I’m looking into getting a sand scoop for the beach and wondering what your recommendations are. Looking for a long handled scoop with a shorter handle by the basket. I like to buy things once, so paying more for durability & quality isn’t an issue. What’s a good scoop and where do I purchase it from? I don’t shop on Amazon. Thanks in advance!

I have had many models working up through the spectrum of budget scoops. I currently have a Sito scoop and it has served me well, durable but getting tired as they all eventually end up cracking at the handle joint. I bought an extreme scoop as a replacement and am very happy with the build quality and durability of it so far. I would recommend buying the Extreme scoop, although they are a bit pricey. If budget is not a problem, skip to the top of the list, buy the Extreme and carbon handle setup. You will get the 10 year warranty with it.

Those are certainly sturdy scoops! The 10 year warranty is impressive. Initially I wanted to keep it in the $200 range but those scoops are very tempting. I have several months to save up, definitely worth considering. Thanks!

Well... If Chuck actually DOES start selling scoops again as he hinted at in a post earlier today, his are OUTSTANDING! I still have the Stealth 720i that I bought in 2012 and it looks almost as good as the day I got it. And no rust or cracked welds after thousands of hours in the Gulf Of Mexico... Picture on the right is 2012 and picture on the left is 2021, same scoop.

Xtreme Scoops , as for The original owner of SunSpot scoops- coming back , in my opinion he could , but- as of today , there is only ONE top of the line scoop maker in the USA right now , that is Xtreme ! Scoops in 316 SS & Titanium .

Thanks! Now it’s which one, the Surf Master or the Sand Shredder? I‘m leaning towards the Sand Shredder, it’s lighter and I don’t see myself doing a lot of surf hunting.

All my scoops have a point , I like getting to each target fast , faster recovery leads to more treasure at the end of the day , the rounded tip say up NY., might not be the right choice- as you will damage the rounded end quickly , hunted it CT., point tip needed , here in De. you could get away with it but a point is better , rounded point might be a good choice for some:rofl2: Florida sugar-sand hunter's, or dry sand only hunters, but in the North East , YOU WANT A POINTED END , hope this helps you , Earl
