I have found there are actually 2 different Pro-find 35 pinpointers on the market.
I watched a video on YouTube where a guy from Great Britain was showing this same thing. This video is less than a year old and it’s legit.
I found out about this last night. Since Cabelas will price match what they sell, we all know the Pro-find 35 is now on sale for $99; down from the original price of $129. Anyway, with me being a club member, they price match plus take an additional 5% off.(Yay Me) I bought one of the last 2 that my local store had in stock and when I opened it, I could see right away it was the improved version that I had seen in the YouTube video. There are 4 noticeable differences:
1. The battery cap has more pronounced scallops like the new Pro-find 40.
2. The speaker holes are enlarged.
3. The ridges on the grip are wider and a little deeper as well as the raised areas around the power/sensitivity buttons are more pronounced.
4. The black area has more of a matte finish now.
Earlier in the week, I contacted a lot of dealers and even sent some of them the link to the video but none had heard about this. I also spoke with Minelab and they neither acknowledged or denied it; just said that “there is only one SKU number for the Pro-find 35”. Not the answer I was hoping for. Here are pictures of my 35.
