Welcome from Dodge City.
Personally, I think the Eclipse 6x10 the DD Eclipse coil, would be a great one to start with. I used mine pretty much 100% of the time. Let me put this in a way that will make more sense. Think of the coil size as how deep it might go. This isn't always the case but as a general rule. The shooter is great to get into tight places, but the depth isn't that great, and it would take a long time to cover a large area. The good is it can get the good stuff that is close to trash. Best overall coverage and depth would be the Eclipse DD, which is a 6"x10" coil.
I think the DFX can still give a lot of modern detectors a run for the money if set up properly and used properly. Still one of the best detectors for hunting a tot lot out there. Down downside is being old it is heavier than the newer models. Built like a tank. One of the first SMF(simultaneous multiple frequency) detectors it can run a both 3 kHz and 15 kHz at the same time, or one at a time. Lower frequencies, like 5 kHz, can go deeper and generally get a better response from high conductive targets like silver coins. Higher frequencies, like 15 kHz are more sensitive to lower conductors, like gold, and smaller targets like chains. Together, you can cover more of the lower & higher frequency targets.
