It's about the size of a US dime. I can't see what the pattern on the front is supposed to say, but the back is clearly marked LONDON BEST QUALITY. So, I can readily see that it's a guided flat button. But what would the age be?

Probably 1800-1830. After this date, US industry development makes british imports fall drastically.
