Guidance on a self-repair of a Fisher MScope

My searches here, didnt turn up much on my older MScope. While I only use it for finding lost items (dropped fasteners) in my back yard while wrenching on tractors, the MD worked fine until it didnt.

I need to do some electronic diagnosis, but cant locate a schematic to get the process jumpstarted.

Any thoughts on obtaining one? I do have the owners manual.

Perhaps as a first step, are there others with an MScope, perhaps a 1225X that can tell me if the head unit makes "powered up" noises when the coil cable is disconnected (but batteries installed)? This allows me to know if I can troubleshoot the head unit without having it hooked up to the coil.

Its fixed, case closed. The speaker had burnt out, but the head phones work. I typically only use the speaker.
