A couple of times a month me and my sisters get together for happy hour. The last time my sister who just turned 70 ask me if I remembered that old sword/bayonet that my father had. In that instant I could smell the grease as I pulled it from its scabbard. I had not thought or heard anything about it in over 50 yrs. , but remember sneaking into my fathers cabinet to show it off to my friends. I didn't realize it was still in the family. Tonight after dinner my sister gave it to me. I don't remember my father ever talking about it. I believe its German but any help would be appreciated. Also wanted to share a bit of history with others. Thanks Mark By the way for you younger members, November 22nd is a very solemn day in history.

Don't do anything as far as cleaning it. It will hurt the value of it. This can be worth some very good money to the right person. Lots of these guns were brought back but not with the bayonet. Guys want a bayo to go on the guns to complete the as issued gun.

Check around on a few of the C&R gun boards. You should be able to find more info.

just like the one hanging in KT's Royal Workshop! But KT's sleeve has the dents! His Majesty's fit a Japanese 7.7 bolt action....sold that gun years ago but saved the bayonet....never know when some knaves may try to cross the moat and attack the Castle!:laughing::laughing:
