Found this at a colonial site near a cellar hole. Thought it might be a military badge but there are no numbers representing a unit. Site pre- revolutionary war. I have found flat buttons, and the most current to date items are zinc mason lids, so folks have there until late 1800's to early 1900's. Solid nrass. No modern trash pprevalent. Too bad I knicked it. Any ideas?

Finally found what it is. It is an old clock pendulum. I have dug man old pendulums, but nothing this fancy. Most of th pendulums I hav found over the years were usually round and made of lead. Thanks everyone for viewing and helping to identify.
