SUPER Rare around these PNW parts but RainorShine and I kinda killed it today... or maybe I did.

Did you see what I did with coincidence? COIN-cidence???:laughing:

Anyway, it was supposed to be a little rainy around here today but turned out to be a very pleasant (dare I say a little hot 79 degrees...we weren't dress for it).

My partner kicked off the day with a couple of wheats and then a Merc but then my fortunes changed. I hit the Rosie (1947S) at the same house where Gale scored his Merc, we hunted curbstrips and finally decided to switch places and moved down the block. Working a curbstrip that I have hit before I scored the Barber (1914). Haven't gotten one of those in a bit. I waved Gale over and said, we now have a Trifecta between us:D.

We were both getting a little tired but Gale scored a permission on another house (adjoining a house I had already gotten a permission) and he soon scored an IHP...being super pumped up for him I wondered why I had ZERO signals, but plenty of interference, on my side of the yard but he had a bunch...so I tuned down my CTX and almost immediately scored a Merc (1919S)...Now I HAD A TRIFECTA (the 3rd of my "career"), soon after I found my own IHP (1906).

We were both excited but tired, I had an appointment I had to go to, but Gale convinced me to hit "One Last House". GREAT HOUSE. He scored a Rosie almost immediately and a few minutes later I scored a Merc (1917S), but when I closed the plug and rescanned the hole my CTX told me 12-40 was still in the hole...flipped over the plug and BANG a 1918D Merc!!! I cannot recall the last time I had a "silver spill".

Here is the COINcidence, my last post I found a 1916S, this hunt I found a 1917S and a 1918D as a spill, and then had found a 1919S as part of my Trifecta today....Tell me that isn't a coincidence!! Pretty cool to find the first 4 years of the Mercs in almost sequential order over the last 2 hunts.

Found 9 wheaties, the oldest being 1910. What a great day for a hunt and even better on the "spoils".

HH and GL All!

It was a great hunt Paul and we had a great time. I love the in-situ pics. Those permissions just keep giving. I like your Indian a whole lot better than the one I found. Let's hope the next outing is just as satisfying.

Good show. I like the deep olive green patina on the IH. And The reveal pix are the "come to papa" moments :cool3:

Until next time Gale! There are more where those came from! 😎

Yup Gale and I were mentioning you when I found the Barber...had to get an In-Situ pic for Tom...🤣

Why didn't you like the write up Tom? 🤣🤣🤣

Ya gotta spice it up. It has to read like a cliff-hanger novel by an acclaimed author . Eg.: John Steinbeck, Earnest Hemingway, Dave Barry, etc.... Keep practicing, and soon we can grant you the atteboy of : "Good play-by-play" :cool3:

OK, I'll throw a Pink Flamingo somewhere in the story the next time.

A five silver day is awesome. Congrats!

Nowadays it certainly is! Thanks Toad.

Nice story on the Mercs Paul. And I agree funny or strange things do seem to happen in this hobby. Now, wow what a day, congrats to you and Gale on an awesome hunt. Attaboy on the 5 silvers with a trifecta, the Ihp. and all the rest. I have had only two dime trifectas and they came both in the same day from the same yard back in 17. You guys are doing really well up there. Good luck, Mark

Congrats! Love those days where silver just keeps showing up

Ya, I looked at my finds tracker and so far this year I have had a few 3 and 4 silver days but not 5 in about a year +. The Barber came from a curbstrip that I have hunted before but this time I was much much more deliberate in listening to the tones/numbers. It has been so dry around here that I am kinda surprised that I am still pulling silver (even at 6-7 inches).

Thanks Mark, I would love to find a few more Barbers and maybe a Seated in the remaining time I have this year....but I am sure I will find more "hens teeth" than Seateds

I loved hunting in the PNW, up in Seattle; way more silver than where I'm at now. Curb strips were pretty good for me (and even better for a certain young guy in our club who scored an 1880 Morgan and later a 1874 Trade Dollar from curb strips!). I would also routinely hunt construction sites and had a large running list of developers I'd call to see who had houses available.

Haven't had a need to go that far with developers, but definitely something to consider...thank you!

Coinkydink ? I think not ! Twas' the regurgititations from the bowels of Mother Earth as was fated to be ! Great finds , pictures and play by play . Congrats to you and Gale ! :waytogo:

Wow congrats. Love those curb strips. Now that it has finally rained I hope to hit some soon. However another dry stretch is in store for us. I went yesterday and it was raining all damn day.

I tend to not think of coins coming from "anyone's bowels" but if that is what blows your hair back S.S. so be it . Seriously, thank you for the kind words and thanks! GL to you Sir!

Well a little rain is nothing at all....you just gotta waterproof yourself:lol:. In all honesty, hunting in the rain is not my favorite weather to hunt in...if it has to be precipitation, I would much prefer snow, but then your hands freeze to death....it is always a trade off. Thanks for the comments!

Very nice hunt Paul, and nice too Gale! That is "Montana quantity" silvers! Am happy you both did well, nice pics, and good story!

WOW!!! Nice hunting. I'm a little bit jealous that you guys have curb strips that are producing that many goods, but more so jealous that you guys get so many mint marks.
I'll bet only 1 in 20 of my coins have mint marks here in NY....if my last coin would've had an S on it that would've been a thousand dollar coin!!!!! But no, 1896 Barber quarter just a common .....such a bummer......
Grats again on the goodies.

Bob, we do get quite a few S and D mintmarks over here but you have ground that, for the most part, produces older coins. Every place has positives and negatives...grass is always greener....thanks for the comment. HH and GL.
