1987 D Unplated ??

Found this in my change about 2 years ago and just dropped it in my collection. I got it out the other night and started researching it. Is it unplated or am I the victim of an acid cleaning scam?
I can't find much about the value, even if it is unplated.

Hang on to it, it may not be plated. You can scratch the edge and if you see copper underneath, It's plated. If it's real, it will damage the value. Weigh it also

I'm not gonna scratch on it. It weighs 38.1 grains and a 1989 weighs 38.9 and a 1986 was 39.1 grains. Just maybe it's unplated.

The link i posted talks about 87 d cents that were simply error coins.... You very well may have an error and worth a few bucks also

So he is saying the plating was removed.
