In truth I have found 2 SLQs previously but they were beach recoveries and I haven't found a SLQ in the "wild" land detecting since I starting detecting over 12 years ago. Looks like the Metal Detecting Gods smiled down on me and rewarded me with a "karma" find of a 1929 SLQ in a curbstrip.
The "karma" was the return of a set of house keys that I had found literally 10 feet from the SLQ that were clearly a fresh drop. The home owner was very appreciative because they lost them at night a few nights earlier. Once I had return those, my next target with a nice 91-92, thinking it was either a clad quarter or sprinkler head but imagine my surprise when I saw the flash of silver and then realized it was a SLQ.
Great day, only silver I recovered but I will take it for the history books.
HH and GL all.
