My buddy and I are usually detecting only but since all the fields are planted and the grass is long I jumped on board with him with his new hobby, bottle digging.
We dug into an old outhouse pit in an abandoned town in Northern ND. We ended up getting an assortment of bottles and jars, including a half dozen vanilla extract bottles.
After we were through with it we filled it back in, replaced the sod and went to a bottle pit behind the old bottling shop that existed years ago. We must have dug a hundred old soda bottles, all in pieces or with decent damage. My prize for the day came after my buddy jumped out of the pit to give me a turn and 6" below where he had his feet I found a perfect 1905-1915 Coca-Cola bottle from Canada! I don't really know a lot about bottles so any info on rarity or value would be much appreciated.
