SUPER Rare around these PNW parts but RainorShine and I kinda killed it today... or maybe I did.
Did you see what I did with coincidence? COIN-cidence???
Anyway, it was supposed to be a little rainy around here today but turned out to be a very pleasant (dare I say a little hot 79 degrees...we weren't dress for it).
My partner kicked off the day with a couple of wheats and then a Merc but then my fortunes changed. I hit the Rosie (1947S) at the same house where Gale scored his Merc, we hunted curbstrips and finally decided to switch places and moved down the block. Working a curbstrip that I have hit before I scored the Barber (1914). Haven't gotten one of those in a bit. I waved Gale over and said, we now have a Trifecta between us.
We were both getting a little tired but Gale scored a permission on another house (adjoining a house I had already gotten a permission) and he soon scored an IHP...being super pumped up for him I wondered why I had ZERO signals, but plenty of interference, on my side of the yard but he had a bunch...so I tuned down my CTX and almost immediately scored a Merc (1919S)...Now I HAD A TRIFECTA (the 3rd of my "career"), soon after I found my own IHP (1906).
We were both excited but tired, I had an appointment I had to go to, but Gale convinced me to hit "One Last House". GREAT HOUSE. He scored a Rosie almost immediately and a few minutes later I scored a Merc (1917S), but when I closed the plug and rescanned the hole my CTX told me 12-40 was still in the hole...flipped over the plug and BANG a 1918D Merc!!! I cannot recall the last time I had a "silver spill".
Here is the COINcidence, my last post I found a 1916S, this hunt I found a 1917S and a 1918D as a spill, and then had found a 1919S as part of my Trifecta today....Tell me that isn't a coincidence!! Pretty cool to find the first 4 years of the Mercs in almost sequential order over the last 2 hunts.
Found 9 wheaties, the oldest being 1910. What a great day for a hunt and even better on the "spoils".
HH and GL All!
